The schizophrenia piqued my curiosity when one of my closest friends fell victim to this mysterious and insidious ailment. I was among the select few with whom he could communicate and maintain a connection to his tangible world. He shared his observations and experiences with me, attempting to elucidate the abstract consciousness he grappled with during this neurosis. I felt akin to a blind man, yearning to fathom and decipher the capricious motions of ink swirling in water or the dance of flames, giving rise to images in my mind that were neither close nor distant.
